Choosing the Correct Charge Controller | Greentech Renewables
To determine the output current that the charge controller will have to handle we use the very basic formula for power in Watts: Power = Volts x Amps. Here we know the power is 3,000 Watts, the battery bank is 48 volts, so: 3,000 Watts = 48 volts x Amps. which gives us: Amps = 3,000 Watts/ 48 volts. Amps = 62.5A.
