could I use a dual input inverter but with only one string attached. you should be fine to do this. usually the MPPTs function separate anyway so I see no reason at all you would need to use both for it to work. if you did need to use both i would be very very surprised and i think that would be a huge mistake by whoever manufactured the SCC.
